Since the author of One Day, David Nicholls, I finished this book 3 days ago and I'm just now coming out of the stupor that I've been wandering around in since. This was a Traveling Sister read which we all adored! Each chapter covers the lives of two protagonists on 15 July, , for 20 years. I opened the book and found myself immersed in Laurie and Jack's story. Certain they're fated to find each other again, Laurie spends a year scanning every bus stop and cafe in London for him.

I know it is hard to imagine but this is a book about two people who are basically depressed constantly, okay I lie once Emma is happy and maybe twice Dexter is happy in a course of 20 years, and it is never super happy, just eh okay happy. I immediately clicked with Laurie and Jack and enjoyed how the story went back and forth between their perspectives. At times, you will experience 'can't breathe' laughter, then 'publicly embarrassing' sobs. There is a journey these character have to go through. She years for him, she can't stop thinking about him, she dreams of the time they will meet again. But their sexy friendship is portrayed in such a rainbow of delicate details that anyone who's had a crush on a close friend will relate to at least a colorful handful of them.
